This is was a project where the client wanted to test the microscope lens. The aim was to design an enclosure protected from light and dust which can be used to mount a microscope with provision for quick installation and removal of the lens. The doors were mounted with reed switches which activate on closing the door. The microscope was supplied by the client. I selected a mechanical clamp which pushes a custom mount on which the microscope lens was mounted. The lens then locks in place in the microscope and light was shined on the lens. The light was measured on the opposite side of the lens and then converted to voltage to measure its intensity. A benchmark reading was set to determine the condition of the lens.
