This is a typical project that I would come across during my current role as Design Engineer. The client wants to test a small board (1in x 1in x 0.063in) with multiple test points. The fixture has a secondary plate on which the mechanical gate is mounted. The mechanical gate has a primary plate on which the probes are mounted. The plate is designed such a way that when the board is mounted and the mechanical gate is closed, the board is pressed against the probes which make contact with the test points. The board is supported from the top with the help of plastic standoffs. The entire assembly is enclosed in a protective shield enclosure to prevent radio interference while testing.
