This is another typical fixture at my current role as a Design Engineer. Unlike the mechanical gate for smaller boards, this fixture demonstrates mechanical gate for medium to large sized boards. Similar to the small fixture, this has a primary plate on which the entire gate assembly is mounted. The gate facilitates opening and closing to place the board inside for testing. The gate has a transparent cover for visibility. Upon closing the gate, the board is pushed against the probes that come in from the bottom of the board and make contact with the test points. Upon completion, the gate is opened, the board is replaced with a different one and the test is continued. This design was made standard and the location of the probes were changed as per the test points on the board.
